Encounter - K11 MUSEA X WHITE CUBE

Encounter is perhaps the most wonderful adventure in one’s ordinary life.

Just like "The Bridges of Madison County", an encounter in four days can unfold memories of a lifetime.

While not only because of love, the encounter becomes wonderful. Imagine yourself as a “flaneur” depicted by Walter Benjamin, walking through the arcade streets, wandering aimlessly in the city, tasting loneliness in the bustling crowd. Suddenly, you unexpectedly encounter an artwork, which forces you to stop and examine each other – such an encounter can activate countless extraordinary envisions on existence and space.

Destiny and chance bring Theaster Gates and Ibrahim Mahama together, featuring unique works by each artist.

The life size installations on view highlight each artist as a leader in their respective creative fields.
