The V&A
The world’s leading museum of art, design, and performance, the V&A’s curation of 12 British and French womenswear spans from the Victorian era to the 1960s, highlighting key moments in the history of couture. Read on to explore the fashions of different eras in the V&A’s collection.

6 Emerging Fashion Designers
Initiating a dialogue between the past and present, east and west, 6 East Asian fashion designers take inspiration from the pieces in the V&A’s collection to create their own contemporary response.

Tomo Koizumi
Instantly recognisable for his signature colourful ruffle costumes, Japanese designer Tomo Koizumi was the breakout star at 2019 New York Fashion Week, supported by world-famous Katie Grand and Marc Jacobs. Celine Kwan

Yueqi Qi
Chinese designer Yueqi Qi draws inspiration from traditional Chinese artisanship, boldly reinterprets crafts such as beading and embroidery to create surprising collisions between Chinese and western culture.
