Welcome to Tony Oursler's LOCK 2,4,6, a labyrinth representing consciousness itself. You, the audience, are the only missing ingredient...
Meander through a maze of synchronised projections on shaped flat panels as you explore American artist Tony Oursler’s immersive installation. Previously showcased at the artist’s recent retrospective at the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, the work is a rumination on human consciousness in a titillating fever dream of light and sound. Oursler’s multi-disciplinary practice is well known for exploring the role of how technology alters — and often inhibits — human behaviour.
This unique cross-disciplinary collaboration with CURATOR Art & Café will be serving limited-time grab-and-go beverage creations inspired by the artist’s work, including a bottled cold brew coffee and a specially crafted art print coffee. Sip and ponder how sustenance and coffee affects wishes, dreams, and anxieties on the human psyche.

Asia's tallest rose has arrived at Victoria Dockside! The first-in-Asia showcase of Rose II (2007) by internationally acclaimed German sculptor Isa Genzken marks the launch of Art Karnival: A grand celebration of world-class art at K11 MUSEA. Like the act of presenting a rose to a loved one, the arrival of Genzken's rose is like a gesture of warmth and compassion for the wider community of Hong Kong.
This signature artwork by the artist is a 8.5-metre-tall monumental stemmed rose that sprouts at the edge of Victoria Dockside — in full bloom against Hong Kong's iconic skyline. Made of steel, aluminium and lacquer, Rose II was shown for the first time in New York in 2010 at the Museum of Modern Art. With its supersized scale, inorganic materials and organic subject matter, the blooming rose forms a surreal juxtaposition next to the soaring skyscrapers of cities such as New York and Hong Kong.
Born in 1948, Isa Genzken is a crucial figure in contemporary art, continuously experimenting with materials, techniques and forms of display in sculpture across four decades. She is particularly active in exploring the links between modern architecture and urban spaces through her outdoor sculptures. She represented Germany at the 52nd Venice Biennale in 2007, and was also the subject of major solo exhibitions at Kunsthalle Bern (2019); Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (2015); The Museum of Modern Art, New York (2013); and New Museum, New York (2010). Her work is included in the collection of Gemeentemuseum, The Hague; Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago; and The Museum of Modern Art, New York, amongst others.
