Hong Kong-based, Belgian-born artist and designer Jonathan Riss brings his one-of-a-kind embroidered creations to K11 MUSEA in a limited-time pop-up!
Founded by the artist 2005, the creation of JAY AHR was propelled by Riss’ philosophy to push the boundaries of design and craftsmanship while being environmentally responsible and culturally aware. To that end, the designer endeavours to give well-loved luxury bags a second life by recrafting and embedding his own brand of artistry into the well-worn items.
From Hermès Kelly, Birkin, and Constance handbags dating back to 1954 (all authenticated) to Chanel Classic Flap, Louis Vuitton Keepall and more, Riss’ works are inspired by the bags' storied provenances, which comes to life in each of their transformed, hand-embroidered bodies, each telling their unique stories.

Online Eco-leadership Programme
Do you know how many insect species live in Hong Kong? 10,000, 20,000 or 30,000? No one knows the exact number, but for sure, they exceed any other groups of animals or plants in terms of diversity. Another certainty is the paramount role that insects play in the functioning and health of ecosystems, even if these roles are often underappreciated or even misunderstood by most people.
Nature Discovery Park and the School of Biological Sciences of The University of Hong Kong co-developed the online eco-leadership programme, which aims to introduce the ecological importance of biodiversity and participants will learn about the direct resources insects provide to human, as well as the influence they have in science and art.

Revered from La Belle Époque (The Beautiful Age) till the 1960s, Maison Lacloche represents the summit of French high jewellery and the pioneer of the Art Deco movement. The maison’s stunning jewellery creations dazzled many in the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris, and were highly celebrated among European royals and Hollywood stars. The house eventually closed its doors in the 1950s.
To retrace the forgotten craftsmanship and fascinating history of this legendary Parisian jewellery house, L’ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts, brings together 40 extremely precious Lacloche works including jewellery, cases, compacts and precious clocks. This retrospective exhibition reveals the dedicated research behind the savoir-faire, detailed in a book written by the curator Laurence Mouillefarine.
Premiered in Paris and now arriving in Hong Kong for the first time with newly selected creations, this exhibition illustrates the Maison’s technical prowess and impeccable taste, whose lustre shines as bright today as it did in the past.
