On this vertiginous ridge, the present, past and future are all key players: memory is the compass that guides us and keeps our Homo Sapiens essence alive, the present is about experimentation and correction, the future is the vision and hope of an improved and better designed world.
Within this matrix, we have identified some films that introduce and analyse these different temporal moments through key themes of contemporaneity such as ‘Urban nature, greenery in the city’; ‘City lives, stories of cities’; ‘Food evolution, traditional food, survival rituals’; ‘Italian memories, Italian creativity and examples of the excellence of doing and thinking’.

Can You Dig This │ The Flying Gardeners
Director: CAN YOU DIG THIS: Delila Vallot | THE FLYING GARDENERS: Giacomo Boeri, Matteo Grimaldi;
Can You Dig This
With John Legend as the executive producer, Can You Dig This? pictures how the gangsters put down their guns and become gardeners to change the environment and be inspired to go beyond that, by creating an oasis in the middle of South Los Angeles, one of the most dangerous and violent neighbor-hoods in America.
The Flying Gardeners
In the Vertical Forest (Bosco Verticale) by Stefano Boeri Architects, people live between concrete and clouds. The flying gardener faces altitude and gravity taking care of those vertical gardens. Follow the gardeners’ perspective and see the world from different angels: from the microcosm of the little living being on the greenery to the macrocosm of the city.

Each chapter explores modern-day muses through original artwork, conversations, photography and essays by Jefferson Hack, James Corner, Jane Goodall and Hans Ulrich Obrist among many others, across all areas from Art to Fashion, Nature to Food, AI to Play, Sound to Sustainability, and more.
Presenting talents and ideas from around the world, the exhibition encapsulates highlights from the art-and-design book, reflecting our founder Adrian Cheng’s ambition for K11 MUSEA and the world, to bring together muses in creativity, culture and innovation to connect and collide, and enrich the consumer’s daily life.
