Trending world-jazz by 2017 Montreux Jazz Festival ‘Audience Choice Award’ winner – Freshly returning from a sensational performance at the Hong Kong International Jazz Festival, Talie Monin and company play an eclectic blend of contemporary styles and offers a glimpse of their ‘Sizwe!’ project, named after the Zulu word for ‘nations’. Performed in her native Zulu, English and Portuguese, Talie extends her heart and soul to touch listeners with her gentle yet dynamic performances.
The group explores some of the most interesting and dynamic contemporary music in the world today, with members from all corners of the world joining to create the very best in Jazz-African-World music. The group leader, Talie Monin, studied jazz vocal training at the American School of Modern Music in Paris and was later accepted by the highly regarded Sarah Lazarus Vocal Atelier at Bill Evans Piano Academy in Paris. She remains a first-call vocalist at numerous live venues and enjoys a busy career as a studio singer.
A stylish performance of famous opera arias and duets – Love and Betrayal presents baritone Stefan Gordon and soprano Michelle Lange accompanied live by Alexander Wong, featuring melodies by Mozart, Puccini, Verdi, and Leoncavallo, as well as tunes by operetta composers Lehar, Kalman and Strauss. These are woven together to an intricate love story.
Our heart goes where the sound travels – The well-toured Symbiosis Strings are versatile musicians and world travellers. After gigs in Europe, North and South America, the duo, featuring Orlando Bonzi and Yanice Tsang Bonzi will perform with a new sound based upon jazz, blues, pop and latin, touching beautiful souls with cool vibes and easy-listening tunes.
